Office Specialist II - Clerk of Courts Office

Burnett County is accepting applications for an Office Specialist II with the Clerk of Courts office.  This position is responsible to perform a variety of routine and advanced clerical and administrative work in the Clerk of Courts Office.  Position will be cross-trained in multiple court case types (which may include Small Claims, Civil, Family, Criminal, Juvenile, Probate and Traffic; as well as jury management and accounts receivable), and will require the application of independent judgment and the interpretation of policies and procedures based on training and knowledge gained through experience on the job.  The position will assist in the administration of the standard operation policies and procedures of the Clerk of Courts per Statute 59.40 and 753.30. This position may be responsible to assist customers at the Clerk’s front counter, handling a variety of court paperwork.

This position requires a high school diploma, two years of post-secondary education plus a minimum of two years office experience, or a combination, which provides the essential knowledge, skills and abilities.  A background in law or court knowledge would be preferred.  Additional requirements include considerable knowledge of office procedures, proficient with computers, internet, Microsoft Office, Outlook, scanners, photocopiers, printers, fax machines, calculators, multi-line telephones.  Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s license.


Desirable candidates will have excellent customer services skills, maintain integrity while conducting themselves ethically, be accountable and pay attention to detail. In addition, self-management, excellent written, verbal, and listening skills, flexibility and the ability to work as a contributing team member are required.
