About Clerk of Courts
Departmental Overview
The Clerk of Circuit Court is a public official, elected every two years, whose primary duties are enumerated in sec. 59.40 of the Wisconsin Statutes. The Clerk is the administrator of the Courts office and holds the responsibility for the budgeting and administering of trial court resources accurately and efficiently.

Duties also include issuing, vacating, and processing warrants. This office also provides the court with jurors on those cases in which a jury trial has been requested and has to record retention management.

Retention Management
This involves payment of witness fees and court ordered payments such as guardian ad litem assignments, psychological evaluations, and interpreter fees. Juror attendance is recorded and payment vouchers are processed for jury service. Money judgments are docketed for public information and satisfactions are recorded.
