Located on
the Society's property is the Museum housed in a late 1800 Methodist
Church.
The original
Burnett County jail, a three cell wooden building utilized from
1870 - 1902.
The 1800 Stenborg
House built by the village blacksmith, under renovation.
Museum and
jail are open Sundays, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., Memorial Day - Labor Day
or by appointment.
1997 exhibit
at the Museum - Crex Meadows - 50 year growth of the wildlife preserve
located north of the village of Grantsburg.
Meetings and
programs are held the 3rd Thursday at 7:30 p.m.; April through September
at the Senior Citizen Center downtown Grantsburg.
The genealogy
department located in the History / Resource Room at the village
library contains local records, The Burnett County Sentinel Newspaper
1870 to present on microfilm and local family histories. Open during
library hours, weekdays, 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. and Mondays til 7:00 p.m.
The Museum
is handicapped accessible.
