"Nordal C. Unseth, the well-known druggist at Grantsburg, was born at Westby, Wisconsin. Recieved a high school education, and in 1889 began the study of pharmacy at Hayward, Wis., with Clapperton & Co. After working there one and one half years, took his first course at the Illinois College of Pharmacy. Then went back to Hayward and stayed four months, but on account of a change in the firm went to work for Frank X. Niehoff at West Superior for one and one half years, and then received a position from S. Gjesdahl, Duluth, Minn., and worked for him one year. Then went back and took his last year's course at the Illinois College of Pharmacy and graduated in 1894. Then went back to Frank X. Niehoff as prescription clerk and stayed one year. Then went to Hayward and accepted a position as prescription clerk for Trowbridge & Sherburne. He conceived that a sideline to the drug business would be jewelry and took a course and graduated from Prof. W. F.A. Woodcock's watchmaking school at Winona, Minn. In 1898 he bought out the pharmacy of Th. Olsen at Grantsburg, Wis., where he has made a successful business. He has always held aloft the high standard of pharmacy, and his motto is, "What is worth doing is worth doing well," and the highest education should be the aim of all pharmacists, in place of the least education necessary to just be able to pass the state board. Mr. Unseth holds Wisconsin licentiate certificate No. 2064 and No. 9087 in Illinois. He is one of the foremost businessmen of not only Grantsburg but Burnett County, and has a splendid business." This sketch was accompanied by a half-tone portrait of its subject which we cannot reproduce but very many of our readers are already familiar with his pleasant countenance.
