Hiking, Biking, and Cross Country Skiing
Ride the Gandy Dancer Trail with your family on one of the state’s premier state trails.  Head to Danbury and try the Jordan Buck Heritage Hike and re-live Jim Jordan’s hunt of the current U.S. record.  Governor Knowles State Forest  trail provides great hiking through Burnett County’s wild places.

Hunting and Fishing
Hunt on over 150,000 of public land and fish 500 lakes and 14 rivers  and 11  wild life areas.  Local sport shops have gear available for purchase, license sales, and outdoor tips for success.    Burnett County is home to records including the Jim Jordan Buck, Procai Lake Sturgeon, and the Lunsman Bear.

Discovery and Art
Learning is so much fun with family and friends!  In Grantsburg, you can visit the Crex Meadows Education Center and learn to identify animal tracks, view wildlife photography, and explore one of Wisconsin’s Premier wildlife area.  Forts Folle (fall) Avoine(a-vaughn) Historical Park is a popular destination for visitor and locals alike.  While at the fort you can get a tour by period dressed guides.   Tours take you through the Indian village and through two re-constructed fur trade posts, the XY Company and the Northwest Company. Experience In a New Light Gallery in Webster.

Motor Sports - ATVing and Snowmobiling
Over 300 miles of snowmobile trails winding through wooded and open areas provide ample snowmobiling opportunties in Burnett County.  This trail system connects to all surrounding counties.  ATVers also have access to a significant trails system that takes riders through the Burnett County Forest.  In the winter a frozen ground system of trails is also available for ATV use.
