Overview

Burnett County is currently accepting applications for On-Call Dispatcher/Jailer positions in the Sheriff’s Department.  The County's Dispatchers/Jailers perform a wide variety of duties connected with the operation of the Jail and the countywide 911 emergency call center.


Job Description
  • Position:             On-Call Dispatcher/Jailer
  • Location:            Burnett County Government Center
  • Time:                 On-Call, Hourly As Needed
  • Wage:                $16.58/Hour

Requirements

This position requires a High School Diploma with additional experience in operating a variety of computer applications and systems, eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification as a Jailer, and a valid driver’s license.   Experience in corrections, telecommunications, law enforcement or security preferred and additional training in corrections science, criminal justice, or related field may be helpful.  Must be 21 years of age or older.  Veterans are encouraged to apply.

This position requires irregular and varied hours as well as pre-employment screenings and evaluations.
