Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing, or Public Health Nurse certificate as noted on inset below and currently licensed to practice as a Public Health Nurse in Wisconsin (previous public health experience preferred):
WI DHS 139.08 defining a public health nurse as being licensed as a registered nurse under ch. 441, Stats., shall have one of the following: (1) A bachelor’s degree from a nursing program approved by the board of nursing under s. 441.01 (3), Stats., and ch. N 1, or accredited by the national professional nursing education accrediting organization. The program shall include preparation in public health nursing or community health nursing. (2) A master’s degree from a nursing program accredited by the national professional nursing education accrediting organization. The program shall include preparation in public health nursing or community health nursing. (3) A public health nurse certificate issued by the department prior to December 1, 1984.
Must also possess proficient computer skills including electronic health records and data bases, internet use including researching evidence- based literature, plus Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.), as well as possession of a valid Wisconsin Driver's License and a reliable vehicle for business use.
Training in CPR, Incident Command, Bloodborne Pathogens, HIPAA, Civil Rights, Fraud & Abuse Prevention, Respiratory Protection, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) desirable.
