Firewood Permits
If you are planning to collect and harvest firewood, the Burnett County Natural Resources Committee offers County residents or landowners an opportunity to purchase a permit from the Forest and Parks Department. Firewood permits are issued for designated sites. Resale of firewood under this permit is not allowed.

Christmas Tree Permits
The Burnett County Natural Resources Committee offers County residents or landowners an opportunity to cut their own Christmas tree from county-owned forest land. All persons must purchase a permit from the Forest & Parks Department. This permit allows the harvest of no more than two conifers per household for personal use. Christmas Tree permits can also be issued to allow the cutting of boughs with specific restrictions. Please see restrictions under More Information.

Collection of Vegetation
Persons picking berries, mushrooms, tree seeds, or other edible fruits for personal consumption do not need a permit. Collection must not damage the plants or the natural features of the land. Digging or removal of plants, trees, or other vegetation without written permission from Burnett County is prohibited.
