SURVEYOR, LAND INFORMATION COMMITTEE MEETING
November 17, 2005

Present: Mary Falk, Gene Olson, Wayne Burmeister, Chris Sybers, Kathy Swingle, Carol Johnson, and Roxanne Moore.

Meeting called to order by Chair, Wayne Burmeister.

Motion made by Gene Olson and seconded by Chris Sybers to approve the minutes of the last meeting. Carried.

The County Surveyor's Report was reviewed.

The Land Information Report was reviewed. The bill from Bayshore Cad in the amount of $1,860 was not in the report as it was received by fax in another office and we did not know until after the deadline.

With the implementation of the county's new accounting system, all bills are supposed to be turned into the Financial Manager no later than 2 days after receipt of them. Since Kathy is supposed to initial all bills first, this becomes a problem when she is gone for more than 2 days at a time (vacation, etc). Motion made by Chris Sybers and seconded by Gene Olson to approve Carol Johnson to initial bills in Kathy's absence. Carried.

Invoices were presented for approval. Motion made by Chris Sybers and seconded by Mary Falk to approve payment of the invoices. Carried.

Discussion followed on property information management systems and web site conversion. The committee directed Kathy to research what other counties are doing regarding their systems. Some of the questions to be researched are:

*Do we have enough in the budget to be operational in 2006 on our own?
*The bottom line cost figure using Nazca.
*The bottom line cost figure of doing our own system.
*5 years from now - profit or loss - both systems.
*10 years from now - profit or loss - both systems.

Motion made by Mary Falk and seconded by Gene Olson to authorize Kathy to do a cost analysis on the Nazca system and Burnett County finishing the current system on our own. Carried. This information is requested for the December 2005 committee meeting.

The next committee meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at 9 a.m. in room 162-63.

Meeting adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,
