Chairman Endresen called the October 7th, 2005 meeting, of the Burnett County Property Committee, to order at 9:00 a.m.
Minutes of the September 8, 2005 Property Meeting: Motion to approve by Supervisor Alderman, second by Supervisor Engelhart. Motion approved.
Minutes of the September 29, 2005 Joint Property/Airport Utilization Meeting: Motion to approve by Supervisor Alderman, second by Supervisor Engelhart. Motion approved.

Ann Lane discussion on storage of the Union file cabinets: Ann Lane, Union 279-A President, wanted to check with the committee to see if there was a problem with the Union getting a larger four drawer lockable file cabinet for Union files, and keep it in the Employee's Lounge (Room 168), their quasi-union hall. Motion by Supervisor Engelhart to approve, second by Supervisor Alderman. Motion carried.
Employee sponsored discussion on smoking on the Government Center Grounds: Ann Lane and Roxanne Moore representing a group of employees that smoke, stated that they are not receiving any feedback or cooperation from Jeff McIntyre, HHS Director, regarding the feedback on any designated smoking area or general status of the ordinance proposal by the Public Health Department. They further asked the Property Committee to not endorse any proposed smoking ordinance that did not have a designated smoking area provision or to sponsor an amendment to such an ordinance for a designated smoking area. Discussion ensued concerning many aspects of the issue at hand. Supervisor Alderman, who is also the HHS committee chairman, invited the representatives to the 11 Oct HHS Committee meeting to speak their concerns to that committee under Appearances by the Public section. No further action was taken by the Property Committee at this time.
Airport Accounts Payable: Motion by Supervisor Alderman to approve September Airport accounts payable report totaling $12,507.82, second by Supervisor Engelhart. Motion carried.
Airport Report: Airport Manager Arnold reported on September Airport operations and projects. Items reported: fuel sales continue rise. Motion by Supervisor Engelhart to approve the report, second by Supervisor Alderman. Motion carried.
Remodeling project involving Mail Room 151 and IT Room 161 for the 2006 Maintenance Budget: Maintenance Supervisor Faught, stated that the County Clerk had tentative approval from the Finance Committee for budgeted funds to relocate/remodel/exchange the IT office (room 161) and Mail room (Room 151). That the project was initially approved by the Property Committee at the 5 April 2005 Property Meeting, and subsequently, the project was cut from the Maintenance Department 2006 Budget request, by the Property Committee in August as a cost cutting measure. The County Clerk needed the Property Committee's re-endorsement of the project for the fund to be finally approved. Motion by Supervisor Alderman to re-authorize the project, second by Supervisor Engelhart. Motion carried
Discussion of the expiration of the Johnson Controls Energy Performance Contract and Maintenance Service Agreement: Maintenance Supervisor Faught reported that additional time was required to get the required information back from all parties involved for a complete review of the variations to a service contract.
Discuss status of the Building's Fire Alarm System: Maintenance Supervisor Faught reported the existing fire alarm panel was repaired by the panel's manufacturers service department. Discussion ensued. The committee requested that the maintenance supervisor to look into obtaining information on improving the existing Fire Alarm system to cover other out lying areas of the building.
Maintenance Accounts Payable: Motion by Supervisor Alderman to approve the September accounts payable report, totaling $3,366.42 second by Supervisor Engelhart. Motion carried.
Maintenance Report: Maintenance Supervisor Faught reported on September Maintenance Department operations and projects. Items reported: Completion of work on the phone system installation at the Highway Department other than some minor programming adjustments, the Government Centers Fire Alarm System being repaired. Motion by Supervisor Alderman to approve the report, second by Supervisor Engelhart. Motion carried.
Future Agenda Items: Follow ups on the Johnson Controls Contract, and the smoking ordnance input from HHS.
Motion by Chairman Endresen to close the October Property Meeting, second by Supervisor Alderman. Motion carried.
