MINUTES OF THE MEETING

Committee Members Present: Emmett Byrne, Eldon Freese, Gerald Pardun, Jeffrey Schinzing and Philip Lindeman.

Others Present: Candace Fitzgerald - County Administrator / Human Resources Director and Marcy Thalacker - Human Resources Generalist.

Chairman Gerald Pardun called the meeting to order.

Motion
Philip Lindeman motion, Eldon Freese second to adopt the August 16th and 24th, 2005 Open and Closed Session Minutes as printed. Motion carried.

Motion
After consideration, Jeff Schinzing moved to grant a 2% across-the-board increase on January 1st, 2006 and July 1st, 2006 for Elected Officials and Non-Represented Staff. Motion carried.

Non-Represented Staff Salary Adjustment Requests:
Since Dave Ferris - County Conservationist had been unable to meet with the Personnel Committee on August 16th due to time constraints, he came before them today to make his request for a wage adjustment in 2006.

Philip Lindeman motion, Emmett Byrne second to go into Closed Session at 10:30 A.M. pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes 19.85(1)(c) and (e) to discuss Employee Performance and Compensation, Bargaining Negotiations. Roll Call Vote as follows:

The Committee reconvened to Open Session as announced at 12:55 P.M.

Motion
Phil Lindeman motion, Eldon Freese second to adjust only the following positions' 2006 salaries as discussed: County Conservationist, Forestry Director, Assistant Forestry/Parks Administrator and Highway Commissioner. Motion carried.

Motion
Eldon Freese motion, Emmett Byrne second to reconfirm that the hiring freeze stays in place thru the 2006 budget year and no new positions will be added. Motion carried.

Gerald Pardun adjourned the meeting at 1:05 P.M.
