CALL TO ORDER: 9:35 a.m. by Charlie Peterson

MINUTES APPROVAL: Motion by Jim Englehart /2nd Wayne Burmeister to approve the minutes as presented. Motion carried.

FINANCE REPORT APPROVAL: Motion by Duane Johnson /2nd Wayne Burmeister to approve the finance report as presented.
Motion carried.

AGENDA:

NRCS - Tom Fredrickson

*Busy doing the reconciliations - accounting side of contracts.
*EQIP sign up after 1/1/05 and a statewide sign up through April for manure pits.
*Farm & Ranch Lands Protection Program through April; $1.8 million; 50% cost share available.
*Working on the Nutrient Management class with Erick Wojchik.

WILDLIFE DAMAGE PROGRAM - Dave Ferris

*Cindy estimates approx. 75% of the crops are off the fields. Motion by Duane Johnson/2nd Wayne Burmeister
to set December 31, 2004 as the wildlife damage claim closure date for Burnett County. Motion carried.
*Dave conveyed to the committee that we have had some farmers questioning public access to their lands enrolled in the
WDP. Dave gave an explanation of the requirements of and differences between ag shooting tags and public access.

CONSERVATION SPEAKING CONTEST RECAP - Dave Ferris

*Gave a recap of this year's area contest. The middle division was won by the Burnett County participant who then went
on to the state contest, but did not place.

CONSERVATION POSTER CONTEST RECAP - Dave Ferris

*Gave a recap of this year' area contest. Both Burnett County winners in the primary and elementary divisions won at the
area level. Both went on to the state competition, but neither placed.

MALWEG GRANT - DAVE FERRIS

*John Haack (UWEX - Spooner) has requested a change to the procedures. Currently, he writes the grant and
administers it. John suggests that he will continue to write the grant but would like the LWCD to administer the grant,
which would mean farmer payments would be handled by the LWCD. This change was approved by the committee.

DNR LICENSE HOLDERS - DAVE FERRIS

*Polk County has suggested a program to promote water quality/lake protection by advertising suggestions on the paper
holders used to protect hunting/fishing licenses issued by the DNR. The are inviting surrounding counties to participate
in hopes of keeping the costs down and reaching a larger audience. Motion by Wayne Burmeister/2nd Duane Johnson to
look into participating with Polk County in this effort provided that our portion of the costs is kept under $1000.00.
Motion carried.

WLWCA ANNUAL MEETING - Dave Ferris

*Dave gave a recap of resolutions, speakers and other events from the annual meeting.

OTHER BUSINESS

*Sportsmen's Family Day - Grantsburg, 1/22/05, 12 - 7:00 p.m.
*Several handouts on upcoming conferences that may be of interest to some.
*Handout from Trempealeau County highlighting some views from the WLWCA Annual Conference.
*Charlie reviewed and signed the extension request for DATCP C/S projects not completed this year.
