*Wood River Nursery fence project put on hold due to State right of way boundaries.
*Closing date for WDP will set date at next meeting (many crops still on fields)

*Chouinard project complete and bills have been paid
*Karels & West Sweden Township projects complete; waiting for bills to be submitted for payment.
*Non Metallic Mining sending out permit applications for 2004; currently have 18 permitted pits 6 without reclamation plans.
STATE RC&D CONFERENCE Dave Ferris
*Went well many compliments on presentations registration higher than expected.
SOIL SURVEY/HYDRO LAYER Dave Ferris
*Met with Fred Simeth have examples from State of what survey would look like without hydro
layer. Committee advises looking into getting survey now, with possibility of adding hydro layer
at a later date.
SPEAKING CONTEST Ann Lane
*Recap of County and Area contests. Our county winner in the elementary division placed 3rd at
the area contest.
SOIL JUDGING Dave Ferris
*Siren H.S. had 2 teams did well
*Next year for Polk Cty is questionable due to budget constraints
COUNTY CON MEETING RECAP Dave Ferris
*Recap of topics covered at the state County Conservationist meeting
RURAL LIVING CODE Dave Ferris
*Doug gave report at the county board meeting the idea of a Rural Living Code link to the county website was well received.
