Land Committee members present: Land Committee Chairman Edgar Peterson, Supervisor Clifford (Larry) Main and Supervisor Phil Lindeman.

Others present: Jim Flanigan, Zoning Administrator, Dave Grindell, Corporation Counsel and Judy Dykstra, Deputy County Clerk.

Called to order: Ed Peterson called the May 26, 2005 meeting of the Land Committee to order at 12:05 in Room 162 of the Burnett County Government Center.

Closed Session: Motion by Phil Lindeman, second by Larry Main, to go into closed session pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes 19.85(1)(g) to confer with legal counsel. The motion carried with a unanimous vote of aye.

No action was taken from the closed session.

Question about Wisconsin Statutes 75.36(2m) Proceeds: A copy of the Treasurer's notice that is sent by certified mail to former owners regarding entitlement to proceeds of the sale of homestead property was passed out to the committee. Larry Main asked if the county could set up trusts with the sale proceeds for the children of former landowners of tax deed properties that had been sold by the county. Dave Grindell responded the county had no authority to do so.
