Phil Lindeman made a motion, second by Ed Peterson, to approve the minutes of the August 13, 2004 Land Committee meeting. Motion carried. Phil asked about the procedure for charging utility companies for easements. Ed said the Town of Oakland does not charge for utility easements.
Phil Lindeman made a motion, second by Ed Peterson, to approve the resolution "Authorizing the Issuance of Tax Deeds" to be submitted to the Burnett County Board of Supervisors at their October meeting. Motion carried. The resolution includes the following parcels:
| 012-9150-04000 - Lot
30, Aspen Hill Addition to Voyager Village; 012-9150-04100 - Lot 31, Aspen Hill Addition to Voyager Village; 012-9325-08800 - Lot 78, Great Bear Addition to Voyager Village; 012-9675-10500 - Lot 95, Tall Moon Addition to Voyager Village and 026-3202-01200 - A parcel of land located in the NW ¼ NE ¼, Section 2, T39N, R15W. |
The committee was given a summary list of ten tax deed parcels to review. Helen Steffen informed the committee of the Crocker eviction from tax deed property located in the Village of Grantsburg. The electricity and water have been turned off. The house will require winterizing if not sold before winter. Helen visited the property and found debris in the house and garbage and appliances outside. The house is a nice size but needs repair. The Village of Grantsburg has requested the county to sell the property this year so the village won't lose a year of taxes. Helen informed them the property had not been on the 2003 tax roll and could only be sold according to county policy. Phil Lindeman made a motion, second by Ed Peterson, to sell the house as soon as possible. Motion carried.
The last tax roll information from 2002 lists the assessed value at $44,800 and the estimated fair market value as $62,700. The committee set the minimum bid at $50,000 and decided the auction will take place at the site. The debris and appliances are to be cleared out before the sale. It was suggested to rent a dumpster for debris disposal. It was also suggested to hire several high school students for $8.00/hour to clean up the property.
Meeting adjourned.
Judith Dykstra
Deputy County Clerk
