Larry Main called the June 14, 2004 meeting of the Land Committee to order at 8:45 a.m. in Room 163 at the Burnett County Government Center. Members present: Larry Main and Edgar Peterson. Others present: Helen Steffen, Joanne Pahl, Judy Dykstra and Chet Newman, reporter.

Larry Main nominated Ed Peterson for chairman. Ed Peterson nominated Larry Main for vice-chairman.

Larry Main made a motion, second by Ed Peterson, to approve the minutes of the April 12, 2004 Land Committee meeting. Motion carried.

Update: three land-locked parcels from the June 20, 2003 land sale are for sale at the minimum bid price. Nine parcels have been taken by tax deed since the last sale. Dave Grindrell will be drafting a judgment of eviction to be signed by the court to evict the former owner from tax deed property in the Village of Grantsburg. No land sale is scheduled for 2004.

Discussion took place on the request of the Burnett County Housing Authority to acquire County owned land in the Village of Webster. The committee requested Helen to send a letter asking the Housing Authority if they want the County to have the property appraised.

Future agenda item - information on funding for the clean up of several contaminated sites that are tax delinquent.
