BURNETT COUNTY LAND COMMITTEE
Minutes
July 14, 2003

Chairman Herbert Josephson called the July 14, 2003, meeting of the Land Committee to order at 8:30 a.m. at the Burnett County Government Center. Members present: Herbert Josephson and Melvin Daniels. Absent: Clifford Main. Others present: Helen Steffen, Joanne Pahl, Kathy Swingle and Judy Dykstra.

Moved by Mel Daniels, second by Herb Josephson, to approve the June 20, 2003 Land Committee minutes. Motion carried.

No information is available for an update on Unit 6 of the Lake 26 Resort Condominiums “non-completion of unit.”

The Crocker case has not been scheduled on the court calendar. No other information is available for an update on the Crocker tax deed property.

The county received a request from Michael and Nancy Slattery for the return of their deposits on four Voyager Village lots purchased at the June 20, 2003 land auction. The Slatterys learned after their purchase that annual assessments by the Voyager Village Property Owners Association would be billed for each lot. They felt the county should have announced this information at the auction. The committee noted that the county brochure indicated the lots are subject to the restrictive covenants and fees of the Voyager Village Property Owners Association along with a statement indicating purchasers are encouraged to explore all applicable regulations prior to sale date. Moved by Mel Daniels, second by Herb Josephson, to deny the request to return the down payments but approved returning the recording fees. Motion carried.

Moved by Herb Josephson, second by Mel Daniels, to set the minimum price of the lots at $100 less than the amount of the successful bid, if the Slatterys do not complete the purchase of the lots. Motion carried. The minimum price follows: Lot 142, Deerpath Addition $900; Lot 42, Red Wing $2,200; Lot 68, Skylight Glen $1,400; and Lot 69, Skylight Glen $1,100.

The county received a request from Jack Hedrick to purchase 25 feet of former railroad property in Webster adjoining the Gander Dancer Trail and Hedrick’s Lot 8, Block 1, Robert’s Addition. The county will wait to act on this request until it is known if the county owns the land in question; Kathy Swingle will review the ownership.

Moved by Herb Josephson, second by Mel Daniels, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
