Burnett County Board of Canvassers
February 17, 2005

The Canvas Board canvassed the votes cast at the February 15, 2005 Spring Primary for State Superintendent of Public Instruction. Canvassers Present: County Clerk Wanda Hinrichs, Betty Anderson and Deputy Clerk Judy Dykstra.

The returns of the Towns and Villages were reviewed and the following discrepancies were noted:

Town on Daniels: Recorded 34 in the Provisional Ballot Section on the Inspector Statement. These were not Provisional Ballots. The County Clerk received the Grantsburg School Poll List instead of the complete voting poll list.

Town of Dewey: The total number of voters was not listed on the Inspectors' Statement. Only one copy of the Statistical Report was sent to the County Clerk. The number of voters was not listed on the Tally Sheet.

Town of Grantsburg: The number of voters was not listed on the Tall Sheet.

Town of Jackson: The total number of voters or absentee voters was not listed on the Inspectors' Statement or Tally Sheet.

Town of LaFollette: The total number of voters or absentee voters was not listed on the Inspector's Statement or Tally Sheet. Only one copy of the Statistical Report was returned to the County Clerk.

Town of Lincoln: There Certification of Chief Inspector area on the Inspector's Statement was not filled out or signed. Only one copy of the Statistical Report was returned to the County Clerk.

Town of Oakland: The total number of voters and absentee voters were not listed on the Inspector's Statement. There was no signature of the Chief Inspector area of the Inspectors' Statement.

Town of Scott: Used old Inspectors' Statement of Defective and Challenged Ballots to record a discrepancy. A new Inspectors' Statement was also provided, but without documentation.

Town of Wood River: - Only one Election Inspector signed the Inspectors' Statement. There must be an odd number of Inspectors working the polls and at least three inspectors must sign the Inspectors' Statement. The area in which the Chief Inspector signs was not completed. The total number of voters was not listed on the Tally Sheet.
