CALL TO ORDER:
Hibbs called the meeting to order at 3:05 p.m..
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Move to approve minutes by Peterson, second by Anderson. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF TREASURERS
REPORT
Hibbs presented the Treasurers Report. Peer moved to approve, seconded by Anderson.
Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF VOUCHERS:
A voucher was submitted for Northwest Regional Planning Commission totaling
$5,022.13. Motion by Peer to approve voucher, second by Govin. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS:
Kornmann handed out the list of committee appointments appointed by Gerber.
The appointments include the following:
Executive: Gerber(Chair), Crowl, Hibbs
Personnel: Hibbs (Chair), Gerber, Crowl
Finance: Gerber(Chair), Anderson, Govin
Nominating: Peer (Chair), Peterson, Richards
Membership: Zeiler(Chair), Hartman, Melberg
BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION:
Julianne Raymond from the Small Business Development Center discussed the Douglass
County Business Plan Competition. She discussed how they run their competition
and the components of her business plan workshop to be held at Webster School
in Sept. - November. The general consensus was that this is a good project for
BCDA.
TECHNOLGOY INFRASTRUCTURE:
Govin and Kornmann presented the experience they had at a technology workshop
in Chippewa Falls. The workshop included case studies, technology and economic
development, connection technology. Discussion included looking into a needs
assessment for the county.
SUPERIOR DAYS
Tessa Chell discussed the youth experience at Superior Days in 2005. She emphasized
a thank you to BCDA for funding youth lodging.
THE CONNECTION
The newsletter went out and received great reviews. It should go a long way
in communicating a successfully, the work that BCDA does.
BUDGET TIMELINE AND
SUMMER SCHEDULE
Kornmann noted that we may have to move the summer schedule for meetings and
that the finance committee will have to start meeting. The budget will be submitted
to the county in August.
ANNIVERSARY
Kornmann noted that BCDA was created in november of 1985 and that makes this
year bcda's 20th anniversary. Board members discussed highlighting this in the
newsletter and possilby some sort of celebration.
SPRING WEDA CONFERENCE
The conference is this week. No one was able to attend.
