Minutes
I. The meeting was called to order by Maury Miller at 9:30 am in Room 165 of the Burnett County Government Center on Monday, June 20, 2005.
Notice was posted according to open meeting law requirements.
Present: Maury Miller, Charles Peterson, Gene Olson, Marilyn Kooiker, Marleen Seul (recorder).
II. Motion to approve the May 16, 2005 minutes made by Charles Peterson; seconded by Gene Olson. Motion carried.
III. General Business:
Department Head Report:
Doug Stubbe was at a 4-H meeting in Madison. Marilyn Kooiker presented the Department Head Report in Stubbe's absence.1. Expenses and Budget 2005 Update
Allyson Krause has been hired as a summer intern. A line item transfer of funds may need to be requested from permanent salaries to temporary salaries, depending on the number of hours worked by Krause.The monthly updated expense information was received just before the meeting; consequently, no expense report was prepared for the committee.
2. Community Partner Advisory Group
The next CPAG meeting is scheduled for 7:00 pm, Tuesday, June 28 in Room 165 of the Burnett County Government Center. Currently, 18 people have agreed to serve on the committee.3. State WACEC Conference
The conference date is June 28 for this year. Maury Miller will attend all day on Monday. Marilyn Kooiker will be there Sunday afternoon and Monday.4. Stubbe was not able to attend the State Wisline Programs, but did ask Marilyn Kooiker to report on them. Kooiker reported information on pay increases at state level, a new Human Resources Director and a new Human Resources Manager in Madison and, as of the first of June, 240 people are registered for the WACEC Conference.
A. Agent Reports:
1. 4-H Youth Development - written report submitted by Doug Stubbe
The written report submitted by Doug Stubbe was read by Marilyn Kooiker. Highlights included an Adolescent Brain Development Seminar in Eau Claire May 17; the state Department of Youth Development Conference in Wausau on May 10-12; meetings on May 18 and June 16 with tribal representatives regarding tribal peer court; and, approximately 100 strategic planning surveys received back from local high school students.2. Community Resource Development - written report submitted by Mike Kornmann and read by Marilyn Kooiker. Kornmann's report included information on the BCDA, Burnett County Strategic Planning, Leadership Program and a lakes study being done for the Burnett County Lakes & Rivers Association.
3. Family Living
Marilyn Kooiker presented a report on Family Living activities, professional development, upcoming Family Living activities and a satellite program scheduled for June 22 on "Trust & Transformation."Kooiker also read a written report submitted by Julie Yezek, Wisconsin Nutrition Education Program Educator.
D. Additional Comments
Motion to approve vouchers made by Charles Peterson; seconded by Gene Olson. Motion carried.
IV. Set Next Meeting Date
Next meeting date set for Monday, July 18, 2005 in Room 165 of the Burnett County Government Center.
