Partisan County Candidates

Partisan County Candidates are elected in the Fall Election in even-numbered years for two-year or four-year terms, depending on the office, and begin their term on the first Monday in January following the election. To be a candidate on the ballot for a Partisan County position in the Fall Election, a campaign registration statement, a declaration of candidacy, and nomination papers are to be completed and filed with the County Clerk.

The following forms must be filed with the County Clerk by 5 p.m. on the second Tuesday in July prior to the election:

Campaign Registration Statement, Form EB-1 (to be filed before collecting signatures)

Declaration of Candidacy, Form EB-162

Nomination Papers, Form EB-169 (The signatures are to be obtained no sooner than June 1 preceding the election and may be filed no later than 5 p.m. the second Tuesday of July preceding the election or the next day if Tuesday is a holiday.) Obtain at least 200 (not more than 400) signatures of voters qualified to vote in the County. The person who circulates the paper and personally obtains the signatures must complete the certification of circulator on the bottom of the form after obtaining the signatures.
