The mission of the Aging Unit is to assist older people by providing help that will empower them to meet their needs, while retaining their self-reliance, independence and the feeling of self worth and dignity.

Senior Dining. There are six Senior Dining Sites throughout the county. Serving times vary from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon depending on the site. Reservations are required and may be made at the local Senior Dining site as follows:

Home Delivered Meals. The same meals enjoyed at the Senior Dining Sites are delivered to the homes of the elderly who are homebound and not able to cook. There are eligibility guidelines that must be met. Contact the Aging Unit Office for specific information.

Elder Abuse. The Aging Unit accepts reports of suspected cases of elder abuse. All calls are kept confidential.

Family Caregivers Support Program. Support and assistance for caregivers as they provide care and assistance to older family members. Respite care is provided.

Information & Assistance. The Aging Unit staff will answer questions regarding services available, whether the Aging Unit provides the service or refers to another agency.

Legal/Benefit Assistance. See Benefit Specialist.

Transportation. Door-to-door transportation services provided by volunteers with their own vehicles for people age 60 and over, disabled persons regardless of age.

Volunteer Opportunities. Volunteers are the backbone of our programs. Volunteers are needed for all the services listed above.
