Burning Permits
Burning permits are not required in the villages of Grantsburg, Siren and Webster, but they are required in the townships within Burnett County. All burning is subject to restrictions set by the fire wardens and Department Of Natural Resources.
Village of Grantsburg: Burning is allowed only after 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Saturday. Burning is prohibited on Sunday. Time restrictions are lifted when the ground is completely snow covered.
Village of Siren: Burning is allowed only after 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Saturday. Burning is prohibited on Sunday & holidays. Burning barrels are required for trash and preferred for leaves.
Village of Webster: Burning is allowed only after 6:00 p.m., year round.
Townships: Permits for use of burning barrels and for burning leaves, brush and household trash are required whenever the ground is not completely snow covered.
Permits are available from the nearest fire warden or ranger station.

Permits are not required for campfires or cooking fires.
Campfires should be restricted to evening hours only and extreme care should be used.
